Family Support Services
As an experienced Child and Family Social Worker who holds a MSc. in Systemic Psychotherapy (family therapy) I am available to provide home-based support to families. I work with individuals, couples, children and teenagers and whole family groups. I support families in navigating life stage challenges and relationship changes, I support the improvement of communication and work towards family members having enhanced understanding of each other in relationships.
I have experience in working with a range of life challenges such as illness, grief and loss, family separation, addiction, mental health struggles. I work from a systemic approach with the belief issues in a family rarely impact one person, rather there are rippled effects throughout the family system.
Family relationships can come under stress at particular life stages such as having a new baby, being in unexpected employment, the teenage years, blending families, caring for an elderly parent, separation / divorce and others. I support individuals and couples in the context of their own relationships and as parents.
I have particular experience in working with families who are separated. I can help you talk to your children about changing family structures or can help with the development of co-parenting plans. There is great value in accessing professional support in the early stages of separation to avoid the often combative and stressful systems of engaging in the family law court.
